Can I room with a student who's not in LEAP? LEAP housing areas are for just LEAP students. You may request a non-LEAP roommate, but you will not be assigned to live in a LEAP building.

Can I room with another LEAP student I know? You may indicate roommate selections on your contract by entering their name and PSU ID. Your roommate should also request you as roommate requests must be mutual for the students to be assigned together. If you did not select a roommate at the time of contract submission, you may add one prior to June 1st by submitting a written request to the Assignment Office for Campus Residences asking to add a name to your contract. See contact information below.

Can I keep a bicycle in my room? Students may store their bicycles in their rooms with the permission of their roommate(s). Arrangements for bicycle locker boxes may be made through Housing management and are rented on a per-semester basis.

Can I live at home if I'm close to State College? Students who live in Centre County can commute to classes in the LEAP Program if they request an exemption from the Assignment Office for Campus Residences prior to submitting a summer contract. They should make arrangements for easy transportation to and from campus to allow for participation in group project work and LEAP Pride social activities. They should be careful NOT to return the Housing Contract if they get one in the mail. Once it's signed and returned, it's a binding contract. Note that non-resident LEAP students will not have the same opportunities for spontaneous social and academic activities.

Can I live in my brother or sister's apartment for the summer and attend LEAP? University policy states that all first-year students are required to live on campus unless the student will be residing with a parent or legal guardian in their primary residence, is over 21 years of age, is married, or is a veteran. If you have a question about receiving an exemption, please contact the Assignment Office for Campus Residences directly prior to submitting a contract. See contact information in the next question.

What if I have any other questions about Housing, Food Services, or Residence Life? The Housing and Food Services website is located at www.hfs.psu.edu/UniversityPark or you may email assignmentoffice@psu.edu or call the Assignment Office for Campus Residences at (814) 865-7501.

I registered for the LEAP program - do I still have to complete a housing contract? Yes.  Within two weeks of accepting your offer of admission to Penn State, you will be offered two housing contracts; one for summer and one for the academic year (fall/spring).  You must log in to www.eLiving.psu.edu to accept the contracts, and will need your Penn State user id and password to do so. You can find additional information about accepting your housing contracts at www.eLiving.psu.edu or you may contact the Assignment Office for Campus Residences at assignmentoffice@psu.edu

For other housing questions, please email assignmentoffice@psu.edu, or check the web page at www.hfs.psu.edu.
