Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs (ATOD)

Risky Business: What risks do people take when they drink? What do they do when faced with difficult decisions? Risky Business is a game designed to provoke discussion and self-awareness about alcohol-related behaviors, how alcohol can affect judgement, and how drinking alcohol affects decision making. Learn more about how alcohol relates to decisions regarding sex and personal safety.

Sex Under the Influence: The Alcohol and Sexuality Connection: ATOD and Sexual Health educators help the audience assess their attitudes about alcohol and sexuality-related issues while separating the facts from the myths. Videotapes, role-play scenarios, and a "Where do you stand" activity help individuals to make informed decisions about sex under the influence. The activities provide the participants with opportunities to practice effective communication skills in order to avoid mixed messages between partners, which could lead to dangerous situations. Also, the concept of blood alcohol content (BAC) is explained.

Dangerous Dieting. The goal of this workshop is to increase participant's awareness of the dangerous dieting practices that are common among college students on the Penn State campus. This presentation will increase awareness of the recommended combination of healthful eating and exercise as a means to control weight, maintain fitness, and enjoy overall good health. This workshop answers questions such as: "What kind of exercises should I be doing?" "How often do I need to exercise to be healthy?" "Where can I go on campus to exercise?"
