Dietetic Food Systems Management

Start and Finish at: Penn State World Campus

The associate degree in Dietetic Food Systems Management includes a set of core courses in dietetic food systems management plus an emphasis in either health care or school food service. The Health Care emphasis is a Dietetic Technician Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetic Education. Graduates of this emphasis are eligible to become Registered Dietetic Technicians after passing a national registration examination. The School Food Service emphasis is approved by the American School Food Service Association (ASFSA). The completion of this degree and emphasis can prepare you to work in the school food service setting in a supervisory position and prepares you for the ASFSA School Food Service Nutrition Specialist (SFNS) credentialing exam.

An associate degree in dietetic food systems management from Penn State can broaden your potential job opportunities and responsibilities and advance your career. Penn State is a recognized leader in the field of dietetics and food service education. World Campus programs allow you to expand your education without leaving your job or disrupting your family life. You can take advantage of optional on-line course enhancements to further build your knowledge, while improving the computer skills you need in today's job market.

Employment in an approved health care facility, community nutrition program, or child nutrition program is required for admission to the major.
