This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State University Park.
This innovative major focuses on many different factors (such as biology, behavior, culture, and the environment) that affect health. Many leading causes of death are preventable and involve behavioral risk factors such as smoking, poor diet, inadequate exercise, excessive alcohol consumption, risky sexual behaviors, and environmental carcinogens. This major is ideal for those who want to plan, implement, and evaluate health-related programs or do biomedical research. It also provides a strong foundation for students who plan to go to medical school or pursue graduate study in epidemiology, genetics, psychology, physical therapy, or related fields.
The B.S. in Biobehavioral Health is offered by Penn State's College of Health and Human Development.
