This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State University Park.
In this major, the unique application of engineering principles to biology and medicine helps graduates prepare to assume a leadership role in the development of medical devices and technology, leading to positions in biomedical research or product manufacture. Students select one of four options: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, and Chemical Engineering. Graduates work in the health care industry, pursue further studies of the biomedical and engineering sciences in graduate school, or enter medical school. Entry-level industrial positions are available in design, production, product research and development, technical service, and sales.
The B.S. in Bioengineering is offered by Penn State’s College of Engineering.
