This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State University Park.
This major offers in-depth study of film and video production, incorporating idea development, writing, production craft (cinematography, sound, editing), production management, and business aspects. Students can prepare to work as writers, producers, directors, cinematographers, sound designers, editors, etc., in diverse areas: mainstream entertainment (feature filmmaking, television), multimedia, public television, education, and corporate and commercial communications. Recent graduates work in feature film and television as writers, location managers, production assistants, cinematographers, makeup artists, grips, and assistant editors. Others work commercially as producers, directors, production managers, and editors, and in public television as producers, writers, and editors.
The B.A. in Film and Video is offered by Penn State's College of Communications.
