This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State University Park.
The geosciences are concerned with earth processes and the evolutionary history of the Earth. Geoscientists work to discover and develop natural resources, solve environmental problems, predict geological events, and answer fundamental questions concerning the origin and evolution of Earth and life. The degree stresses data collection; investigation, analysis, and synthesis of information related to complex natural problems; rigor of thought; and clarity of oral and written expression. The B.A. program is ideal for employment in such diverse fields as environmental law and K-12 science education. The B.S. degree is an excellent foundation for industrial careers or graduate school.
The B.S. in Geosciences is offered by Penn State's College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
