The German major is designed for students who want to study the language, literature, and culture of German-speaking nations in order to broaden their horizons and meet an increasing demand for foreign language skills and intercultural relations. Students choose from five options: German Literature, German Studies, Teaching, German Business, and German Engineering.

The B.S. and B.A. degrees in Greman are offered by Penn State's College of the Liberal Arts.
