This major may be started at any campus and is completed only at Penn State University Park.
The third oldest program of its kind in the country, the Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management program was established in 1937. This major helps students prepare for management positions in the rapidly growing hospitality industry. It provides access to a broad education as well as strong management, problem solving, and technical skills. Students choose one of two options: Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management, or Management Dietetics. Graduates work in hotels, restaurants, resorts, health care institutions, and other hospitality settings. Many prominent firms recruit our graduates, and the placement rate is virtually 100 percent.
The B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management is offered by Penn State's College of Health and Human Development.
