This program is designed for students who want to become involved in manufacturing systems (developing the best way to make a particular product), management systems (developing techniques that enable managers to make more effective decisions), and human factors (considering the physical and mental capacities of people in designing processes so that work can be performed more safely, comfortably, and efficiently).The Industrial Engineering program includes the following fields: engineering service, manufacturing engineering, management controls, methods, and ergonomics engineering. Graduates of this major may enter industry in production control, manufacturing systems, engineering methods, and standards and facilities planning and design.
The B.S. in Industrial Engineering is offered by Penn State's College of Engineering.
