This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State Harrisburg.
This major helps students prepare to enter rapidly expanding fields associated with technology, including programming, systems analysis and design, database administration, network management, support services and training, and management of information resources. Students gain competence in both information technology and business theory. Thus, the curriculum combines highly technical content with the managerial aspect of information systems. Each student's background is complemented with basic business instruction in accounting, marketing, management, and finance. With both business and non-business electives, the program is designed to help students develop the skills necessary to be effective information systems employees.
The B.S. in Information Systems is offered by Penn State's Capital College.
