This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State University Park.
This major emphasizes the ethical and skillful collection, analysis, and reporting of information for dissemination to the public. The curriculum is designed to develop not only journalistic skills but also an understanding of the social, legal, and economic currents that affect the practice of journalism across media (broadcast, print, graphic, and digital). Because we recognize the importance of placing the practice of journalism into a meaningful context, students are required to complete a minor. Recent graduates have pursued careers as newspaper reporters and copy editors, photojournalists, broadcast producers and reporters, and multimedia professionals. Others have entered law school or graduate school.
The B.A. in Journalism is offered by Penn State's College of Communications.
