Marketing involves research studies that determine consumers' likes and dislikes and how firms should deal with those preferences. Marketing means determining advertising strategies and making advertising arrangements. It also means product development (the design and creation of new goods) and the pricing of new products and services. Marketing professionals must communicate well and enjoy working with people. Employment opportunities, include marketing management, sales management, advertising, marketing research, retailing, and consumer affairs.

Because of the tremendous growth in the service sector, the major emphasizes the marketing of services. Typically, graduates are employed in marketing management, sales management, retailing, marketing research, and brand management.
