This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State University Park.
Meteorology students apply physics, chemistry, and mathematics to understand the structure and dynamics of the Earth's atmosphere. The program combines the fundamentals of physical and dynamic meteorology with opportunities for specialized studies in one of four options: Air Quality Studies, Climatology, Weather Forecasting and Communications, and General. The Campus Weather Service enables students to use the well-equipped modern weather station and a fully functional television studio to prepare forecasts for local radio and television stations. Internships and co-op programs are available through the department, as are opportunities for undergraduate research with the faculty.
The B.S. in Meteorology is offered by Penn State's College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
