Management Information Systems at Penn State Erie
This program may be started at any campus and is completed only at Penn State Erie.

This major offers a business degree coupled with strong computer and information management skills. The MIS degree differs from a computer science degree in several ways. In MIS, the emphasis is on the solution of business problems rather than the creation of new knowledge about computing. Where computer science emphasizes the study of computers and computer programming as ends in themselves, MIS emphasizes the application of computer science within an organization to help achieve its goals.

The B.S. in Management Information Systems is offered by Penn State's Behrend College.

Read more about high school course requirements. This major has no transfer requirements specific to the major.

Please note: The University may make changes in policies, procedures, educational offerings, and requirements at any time. Please consult the most recent Degree Programs Bulletin for more detailed information.
