Physics

Penn State offers several degrees in physics, each of which is completed at a different location.

Physics at Penn State University Park
This program may be started at any campus and is completed only at Penn State University Park.

Physics is the quest to discover the basic principles or laws that govern the natural world. Physics students are curious about nature and usually enthusiastic about mathematics as a tool to describe it. Options are Acoustics, Electronics, General Physics, Medical Physics, and Teaching. Undergraduates are encouraged to participate in research in several areas, including atomic/molecular, condensed-matter and solid-state, gravitational and cosmic-ray, and elementary-particle physics. The major provides a solid program of technical and general education appropriate for research and development positions in industry and government. It is also excellent preparation for graduate studies in physics or other fields.

The B.S. in Physics is offered by Penn State's Eberly College of Science.

Physics at Penn State Erie
