Building on Penn State Abington's interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary strengths, this major is designed to respond to the demand for a program emphasizing the social and behavioral sciences leading to an understanding of human behavior and its influence upon society as well as the influence of social forces on individuals. The program provides a broad theoretical foundation in social and psychological theory as well as the opportunity to engage in supervised field experience. The major is designed to prepare students for careers including human resources, business administration, mental health, and social work as well as for graduate or professional school.
