This major not only integrates the College of Business's highly ranked programs in business logistics and operations management, but also is the first of its kind to formally include the information systems component. This field of study concentrates on the management of the supply chain networks that modern business enterprises use to acquire, produce, and deliver goods and services all over the world and on information technology as the key enabler of supply chain integration. Students majoring in SC&IS will develop important skills in information processing, databases, system design and analysis, modeling methods and technologies, and financial analysis of supply chain decisions. Careers in Supply Chain and Information Systems include government; manufacturing, service, technology, and merchandising companies; third-party logistics provider; transport system enterprises; consulting firms; and government agencies.
The degree in Supply Chain and Information Systems is offered by Penn State's Smeal College of Business.
