Sociology is the study of the many groups that humans form; family, communities, and states, as well as a variety of social, religious, political, business, and other organizations. Sociology studies the behavior and interaction of these groups, their origin and growth, and the influences of group activities on individual members.
Sociology at Penn State Harrisburg This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State Harrisburg.
This major is intended for students who are interested in graduate work in sociology or want a strong sociology background in preparation for social or government work. Sociologists are employed in such diverse fields as telecommunications, human resource management, public assistance, research, and college teaching. A degree in sociology can provide opportunities to work in any environment where an understanding of social structure and social dynamics is required.
