This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State University Park. It is also offered through the Penn State World Campus.
Turfgrass Science involves the study of grasses, soils, ornamentals, and the various pests that can affect turf, in combination with specific business and management courses to provide students with the necessary academic background to contribute to the turfgrass industry. Employment opportunities exist at golf courses and in lawn and landscaping, athletic field management, sales and service, the agrochemical industry, cemetery management, roadside vegetation, environmental consulting firms, government agencies, and many other areas.
The B.S. in Turfgrass Science is offered by Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences and Penn State's World Campus.
