This major helps students prepare for a career in wildlife and fisheries science. Curricular options allow students to focus on either fisheries or wildlife.The program deals with conservation and management of wildlife and fish and their habitats, as well as human- wildlife- fish interactions. Classes explore wildlife and fisheries biology, ecology, management, and conservation; habitat and population control; and research techniques. Graduates may fulfill requirements established by The Wildlife Society the American ' Fisheries Society, and the federal Office of Personnel Management for employment in wildlife biology. Many graduates will seek employment with a public agency. This major also helps students prepare for graduate study.
The B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science is offered by Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences.
