This major helps students prepare for careers in the wood products industry, which supports the management of natural resources. Two options (Wood Products Business and Marketing and Wood Products Processing and Manufacturing) help students prepare for employment or graduate study in various aspects of wood products business management and marketing, process and product quality control, or research and development. Within the employment spectrum are jobs related to roundwood processing to lumber and plywood, drying and protection of wood and fiber products, adhesives and coatings, reconstructed wood composites, paper manufacture, board products, construction and housing, sales, retail management, market research, and product market management. Demand for graduates is high.
The B.S. in Wood Products is offered by Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences.
