When should I apply for student financial aid?

We encourage you to submit the FAFSA on the Web by February 15 of your senior year. You may still submit the FAFSA after that date, but more aid may be available to those who file earlier. If it is not possible to have federal income tax forms completed prior to the recommended filing date of February 15, use estimated tax information. Penn State provides an Early Aid Estimate for families of first-year students (who have been offered admission) who want to know what type of student aid they may receive.
