Parking
Because University Park is a pedestrian campus, weekday parking is limited. Weekday visitors can print a parking pass when they register online, or by entering the registration system later with their confirmation number. This parking permit is valid for the parking lots adjacent to the Bryce Jordan Center (Lot 44 - in section 8-B on map) or Beaver Stadium (Stadium West - in section 8-A on map). Weekday visitors may not park in the "Orange E" lot adjacent to the Shields Building where the Undergraduate Admissions Office is located.
Please display the parking permit on your dashboard. After parking, you may walk or take the campus bus system from the parking lot or the bus stop on Curtin Road to Shields Building. It will normally be most convenient for you to leave your vehicle in this lot during your visit and access other points on campus on foot or by using the campus bus system. Please do not park in the spaces with the red parking meters.
A parking permit is not required on Saturday. The most convenient parking for Saturday visitors will be the "Orange E" lot immediately next to the Admissions Office (located in Shields Building, on your map). If you are arriving on Friday and plan to park on campus, you will need to check in at the Centre County Visitor Center (located on Park Ave. by Beaver Stadium) to determine where the closest visitor parking is located.
Metered parking spaces are available at several other locations around campus. We don't recommend them for long-term parking, but if you'd like to make a quick trip to the Creamery or the Penn State Bookstore on campus, metered spaces will make these stops more convenient for you. If you do park temporarily in a metered space, don't forget to feed the meter.
Getting Around Campus
The Loop (Campus Bus System) is a convenient option for getting around campus and downtown State College. You can catch the Loop at posted Loop Stop signs. Rides on the Loop are free to all students and University visitors.
