Purpose
The purpose of the Advising @ PSU Web site is to provide a central source of information about academic advising and related educational topics at Penn State. This site includes original material developed specifically for the site as well as links to other Web sites with relevant academic information for students, faculty, and staff University-wide. It is not, however, an index to all topics at Penn State.
Navigating this Site
The blue bar at the top of the Web page is the navigation bar, consisting of a series of links and pull-down menus. From this navigation bar, which appears at the top of every page within the Advising @ PSU Web site, you can return to the home page or go directly to pages in the Alpha Index, Topic Index, FAQ, Quick Links, etc.

Armillary Sphere
The central graphic on the home page is an armillary sphere, an ancient astronomical instrument consisting of a set of rings surrounding a sphere representing the Earth and used to show the position of the rising and setting sun. This graphic, designed by Jason Tremblay (B.A., Integrative Arts, Penn State, 2000), was inspired by the bronze armillary sphere on the front lawn of Old Main at the University Park campus.
Acknowledgements
This Web site was developed by the Division of Undergraduate Studies in consultation with the Undergraduate Student Government's Academic Assembly, other Penn State students, academic advisers, and other Penn State faculty and staff members.
