Listservs

A Listserv is mailing-list tool for group communication.  You can use Listservs to post comments or questions to a large number of people at the same time (in this case, you will be communicating with your Discussion Section classmates).

To send a message to all the people currently subscribed to a listserv, you just send an email to the list address provided to you (e.g., L-INSYS@LISTS.PSU.EDU). When you submit a question or something that you want to share with the Listserv, your submission is distributed to all of the other people on that list. This is called "sending mail to the list" because you send mail to a single address and the Listserv makes copies for all the people who have subscribed.
