Comment on "Student Spotlight: Janalyn Sheetz and some thoughts on education and transformation"

One of the remarkable things about the transformative power of education is that it is capable of turning students into teachers.

By putting words to your experience, Janalyn, you have taught me some important things about endangered languages, the importance of indigenous cultures and, indeed, the integrity and courage of a student willing to venture out of her comfort zone to open herself to a new and deeper understanding of the world.

Thank you and congratulations!

- Christopher P. Long

Comment on "Looking forward by looking back"

What a great story and way to begin the SIP blog. Everyone associated with the College of the Liberal Arts appreciates the generous gift that Terry and Linda made.

By giving to graduate education, they support the entire educational enterprise here in the College. To be able to recruit, retain and place excellent graduate students improves the quality of education we offer undergraduates. It also augments the impact the department has on the wider academic profession.

- Christopher P.
