Lake Perez Closed to Lake and Water-Related Activities Until Further Notice
Adventure Camp, Challenge Course Still Open Despite Lake Perez Dam Maintenance Work
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; April 11, 2008- All lake and water-related activities at Lake Perez have been suspended until the lake has returned to normal levels. The lake, part of the Stone Valley Recreation Area, is currently in the process of draw down in order to complete the necessary repairs to the dam structure.
Among the suspended activities at Lake Perez are fishing (including shoreline fishing), boating, sailing and canoeing. Annually, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocks the lake with adult trout during the spring, fall, and winter periods to provide recreational angling opportunities. Due to the draw down, the preseason stocking and the spring in-season stocking of adult trout will be cancelled for Lake Perez in 2008.
Despite the work at Lake Perez, the Challenge Course will still be open. Adventure Camp will also still be offered as well.
