Every year Detachment 720 holds a New Student Orientation Program (NSOP) four days prior to the new fall semester. During this time, new cadets participate in a variety of activities to become familiar with the basics of AFROTC, the Penn State Campus, and student life. Most importantly it provides an opportunity for students and their parents to get to know current cadets and cadre.
During NSOP you will move into your Penn State dorm a few days early, get to meet the Cadre and several returning cadets, get squared away with your new uniforms, and learn vital knowledge that will start you off on a great path for your AFROTC career. NSOP is not a mandatory program, but as a new cadet it is an invaluable learning experience.
