Subcommittees

Several subcommittees have been formed to promote interaction between AIAA, the section members, and the community. If you are interested in helping out with any of these committees, please contact one of the section officers or committee chairs listed below in the committee descriptions.          

Public Policy -- Chair: Dr. David Spencer - dbs9@psu.edu

Since this is the first year of the committee, we are focusing on setting goals. In the future, members will have the opportunity to contact elected officials and attend AIAA public policy briefings.

Education -- Chair: Dr. Ed Smith - ecs@rcoe.psu.edu

This year the education committee will be working to recruit educator associate members from community school districts.

Newsletter -- Chair: Kathryn Fisher - kkf106@psu.edu

The newsletter committee is working to provide the professional members with a quarterly publication. This publication will contain columns on the Penn State student branch, future activities, committee plans, and a feature on a technical committee. The newsletter is a means to keep all members updated on happenings in the Central Pennsylvania section of AIAA.

Technical -- Chair: Dr. Vigor Yang - vigor@psu.edu

The technical committee works to provide the section with information on technical projects section members are working on and national technical information that is of interest to members.

Membership -- Chair: Dr. Philip Morris - pjm@psu.edu

The membership committee tracks the membership levels for the section as well as assists in recruiting and retention of members.
