Scholarship and Enrollment Officer (SEO)/Recruiting Operations Officer)
LTC Ron Lysinger was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery upon graduation from Boise State University in 1988. Following attendance at the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course and the Defense Language Institute in Monterey CA, he was assigned to the 12th United States Army Field Artillery Detachment in Oderzo Italy. He served as a Maintenance and Assembly Platoon Leader and Security Officer. He did a Consecutive Overseas Tour and moved to Babenhausen Germany to join Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 27th Field Artillery (MLRS) where he served as Ammunition Platoon Leader and Battery Operations Officer. Following attendance at the Field Artillery Advance Course he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery, 2nd Armored Division, Fort Hood Texas. There he served as Task Force Fire Support Officer for 3rd Battalion, 41st Infantry (MECH) followed by commanding Service Battery, part of Task Force XXI fielding and testing. He was then assigned as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Gonzaga University, Spokane Washington where he instructed freshmen and junior classes and served as the Operations Officer. LTC Lysinger then moved to Fort Riley Kansas and was assigned to 2nd Battalion 289th Field Artillery (AC/RC) where he served as the Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer. He was then reassigned to 4th Battalion, 1st Field Artillery, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Fort Riley Kansas, where he served as the Brigade Fire Support Officer. He assumed the position of Battalion Executive Officer for 4-1 Field Artillery and deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is currently serving as the Scholarships and Enrollment Officer at Penn State University Army ROTC.
LTC Lysinger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education/Pre Physical Therapy from Boise State University and a Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. His awards include Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. LTC Lysinger is married to the former Rhonda Floyd of Kuna, Idaho. They have one son, Ronnie Alton, and two daughters, Rebecca Zoe and Riley Jo.
