My BIRCWH research focuses on the role that physical activity plays in the enhancement of physical and mental health in women across the menopausal transition. I am using a biopsychosocial approach to investigate the antecedents and consequences of physical activity in middle-aged women, examining how physiological (fitness, body composition, hormonal status) and psychological (mood, stress, self-esteem) outcomes of physical activity interact to impact menopausal symptomatology and wellbeing.
