Research and Teaching Interests
Michelle Frisco is Assistant Professor of Sociology and Demography and a Children Youth and Families Consortium (CYFC) faculty member who is interested in the ways that adolescents' and young adults' health, education and family life intersect. Her most recent research endeavors focus on the consequences of adolescent and early adult obesity. Her primary strand of research investigates relationships between young women's weight and fertility outcomes throughout the adult life course.
Her other research focuses on gender differences in relationships between weight and mental health outcomes during adolescence and the transition to adulthood.
