Building a Community with eReaders and a Blog

In 2010, the Penn State Brandywine Honors Program was thrilled to learn that it was the recipient of a Verizon "Check Into Literacy" grant. The grant was used to implement a pilot project for the honors Literary Launch program.  We purchased 15nKindles and a variety of eBooks for some of the honors scholars to use for the Spring 2011 common read of "The Slave Next Door."  In the YouTube video below, you can see interviews with honors faculty Dr. Laura Guertin and Dr. Jennifer Zosh and honors scholars Jennifer Santangelo, Labanya Mookerjee, and Benjamin Bean.  All discuss their experience using a Kindle for the first time and the sense of community they have found with this program.
