In Stage 3, the 48 students in Antonio Ceraso’s two spring semester courses used the fall class’s drafts of issue books that addressed, “How should the balance between the school board and the public be maintained in the State College Area School District decision-making process?” With the work of these two classes, the pilot was completed.

Each of Ceraso's classes produced an issue book:

English 202C, Section 032 Issue Book: Decision-Making Approaches: State College Area High School Facilities Project

English 202C, Section 033 Issue Book: Making Decisions for Our Schools

This assignment sequenced over three semesters, commissioned by the Public Issues Forums (PIF) of Centre County Steering Committee, engaged 150 writing students and peer tutors of writing in the civic issue of how a school board can best communicate with the public. The PIF committee will pull from the reports to form the basis of a forum to be held at the Bryce Jordan Center as part of July 4th Fest.
