Engineering Shop Services (ESS) develops and fabricates sophisticated prototype equipment and test apparatus for research activities. The facility offers state-of-the-art, numerically controlled, high-accuracy machining and broad-based welding services. Our services have been expanded to include Wire and Plunge EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) for micro machining capability. The extensive shop services are computer based and use complex CAD/CAM Solid Modeling programs for designing and fabricating research hardware.
