The Title of the 2001 Donald W. Davis Symposium is: "Issues in Wireless and Internet Advertising."
The Davis Symposium was designed to serve as a forum to discuss current issues
related to advertising with the strong potential to directly influence the
lives of the consuming public. Campaigns that have personal relevance to
the end users are of particular interest.
This year's program will address issues in wireless and Internet
advertising. The presentations will include: where the mobile
advertising industry is likely heading, targeting research about mobile
devices in domestic and international settings, and how cultural differences
impact the potential for wireless marketing in different countries.
Also, the use of location technologies that allow messages to be targeted
based on time, location, and content will be reviewed. The discussion
will cover some of the objection raised about wireless marketing and concerns
related to privacy issues.
