"Alitea Instruments was founded in 1986 by Andula Ruzicka and Sue Christian, mainly as a re-distributer of Alitea AB's peristaltic pumps. It soon became apparent, however, that there was a pentup demand for complete flow injection systems. In 1988 Alitea Instruments introduced two FIA systems; an educationalnon-computer based low cost instrument, and a computer based, high end instrument. Although somewhat limited when compared to our current product line, these early instruments are still widely used, evident by frequent mentions in scientific papers and conferences. Since then, Alitea Instruments has introduced seven new state of the art FIA and SIA systems under the trade mark FIAlab®, as well as many types of detectors and flow cells."
