Board of Directors

The Penn State Faculty/Staff Club is a growing organization. Sanctioned by the University in 1992, the membership of the Club increased to 800 members in the first five years. Many of the Penn State University employees are, however, not aware of the Clubs existence. The Club tries to make its presence to University employees through mass mailings of an application brochure, newspaper articles, booths at shows, and by way of personal invitation.

There are twelve members on the Board of Directors plus several associate directors. There is a President, Vice-president, and Secretary. There are many committees headed by the members of the Board of Directors. Some of these committees are involved with planning, membership, promotion, and programming of events.

The Club had its beginnings in 1991 with an Ad Hoc committee chaired by Dr. Barton Browning. With University approval and support, the Penn State Faculty Staff Club was formed in 1992 with Dr. Alfred Turgeon as the first President. The following each served as President for a one year term: Sally Kalin, Dr. George Bugyi, Sandy Edwards, Gif Albright, Billie Willits, Bob Secor and Karen Wagner Pollack. The past President serves as an advisor to the President and the Board to insure continuity. Elections for Board members are staggered for continuity. Any Penn State Faculty Staff Club member may run for election. Term of office is for three years.
