Dear Members of the Penn State Faculty Staff Club:
It is with sincere regret that I write to inform you that the Penn State FacultyStaff Club (FSC) Board of Directors unanimously recommended thedissolution of the Club at its meeting on April 3, 2008. This was a very difficultdecision for the Board to make. The members of the FSC Board and the Club have devoted substantial time and energy in recent years to try to rebuild the membership. However, despite efforts to expand program offerings and attract new members, the Club membership has continued a steady downward trend from about 770 members in 2002 to the current level of 370 members on AprilI, 2008. This decline has created fiscal problems because the functioning of the Club is heavily dependent upon dues.
