Penn State's Information Technology Services organization (ITS) and the well known software vendor, Red Hat, have entered into an agreement to make the Red Hat Linux Operating System available to departments throughout the University at a significant educational discount. The operating system is now available for purchase through Penn State's Computer Store.
The Computer Store is pleased to be adding the University's various Linux and UNIX software license programs to the Mac and PC programs that they currently offer. Titles such as Mathematica, TecPlot and MATLAB-previously only available through ITS's Institutional Licensing and Software Distribution (ILSD)-will be moving into the Computer Store's product listings throughout the summer months. Watch the Computer Store Web site Newsroom for details.
