Policy: click to access Senate Policy 48-50, No Grade (NG)
1. Each instructor shall provide, with a class grade report, a memo justifying each grade not designated. In particular, the reason why no grade (NG) is being submitted rather than a DF or F should be given.
The memo shall be kept on file in the department (program) office where the course is offered.
2. The Registrar's office shall compile a list of NG recipients by the add deadline of the following semester (including a summer session) in which the NG recipient is enrolled.
This list shall be forwarded to each department head via the college dean's office. At the same time, the Registrar's office shall also notify by mail each student with an NG. The NGs are to be recognized by the last day of the fourth week of classes in that same semester. If grades are not forthcoming by that deadline, the Registrar's office shall automatically change NGs into Fs and notify the students, instructors, and department heads.
3. Students with NG on their transcripts will not be allowed to graduate.
