
A Baroque Bequest: A Selection of Paintings from the Collection of Mary Jane Harris
October 12-December 12, 1999
This exhibition celebrates the recent bequest of four Italian Baroque paintings to the Palmer Museum by Mary Jane Harris: St. Sebastian Tended by an Angelby Giovanni Baglione, Francesco Fracanzano's Ecce Homo, St. Jeromeby Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, known as Il Guercino, and Giovanni Domenico Ferretti's The Brazen Serpent. The canvases are joined by several additional Old Master paintings given to the museum by Mrs. Harris and her late husband, Morton B. Harris, including San Genneroby Louis Finson, Girolamo Forabosco's David with the Head of Goliath,and Sacrifice of Jephthah's Daughterby Pietro Vecchia.
