Student Success: Who is Responsible for Student Success?

Session leader: Robert Pangborn, Vice President and Dean for Undergraduate Education

To ensure the success of our students, we need to provide them with effective services, resources, programs and communications for key times of transition, such as entry to college, change of campus, and entry to major. Developing such scaffolding, or systems of support, requires that we clearly understand when students are likely to stumble, hence members of this panel will begin by presenting data related to some of these transition points for students. The panel members will then discuss initiatives, exemplary practices, research, and assessment strategies focused on supporting student success in these and other transitions and outline the role we all play in working with students to enhance student success. The panelists will provide a variety of perspectives from advising to student and academic support services.
