I thought this piece from the Wall Street Journal might be of interest to readers involved or interested in historic preservation and/or working at state or national parks and their respective museums. The new emphasis on shared public space and interactivity struck me as strange corollary to the old tradition or re-enactment and living history at battlefield parks and other historic sites. Is there anything to learn from these trends, or is this old hat for folks in public history? Comments, as always, are more than welcome.
