Undergraduate Scientists Tell Their Stories

Welcome to the Penn State Science undergraduate scientists blogs. Follow our student bloggers to find out what it's like to get hands-on research experience in the labs of Penn State Science faculty.

Meet our first blogger, Penn State sophomore Ying Feng, who goes by Katherina in her classes. She is an undergraduate student-researcher at Penn State and a member of the lab team of Jason Wright, assistant professor of astronomy and astrophysics. On Monday evenings each week until the end of the spring 2012 semester, Ying will blog about her experience of being a research undergraduate student on a university research team.

This is her 7th semester doing undergraduate research in Kateryna Makova's research lab at Penn State. Each Monday, Allison will be posting a blog entry that uncovers a reason why students would benefit from performing research. Please leave comments and questions on the page or feel free to email Allison directly at arf174@psu.edu.

He also spent two summers working with Robert Cammarata in the Materials Science department at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Patrick will blog about his experiences working with these two very different groups every other Friday evening this semester. Questions can be posted in the comments section or sent directly to Patrick at pcb139@psu.edu.
