Im honored to be mentioned in your blog post. I love that decreasing suck/ increasing awesome idea, it could be very applicable to other parts of your life. And to be honest those diagrams look super cool.

While we're discussing soccer, I'd jus like to point out that there is a team which operates on a 'decreasing the suck' method- Spain. Only they call it tiki-taka and it's touted as being extremely sophisticated. I'd just like to declare publicly that it's boring as hell watching them and I have no idea why people want to watch a team that doesn't even run. They just kick the ball.

My recommendation would be to go for an 'increasing the awesome' type team. Like Portugal.

- Rowena

Because "the moon contains no wind of water to erode the evidence of human visitation," "the first footprint at Tranquility Base will outlast the pyramids and the tallest skyscrapers."

I've always been fond of attractive sounding sentences and that really sounded amazing. I know it's not your sentence, but the way it was written really captured a lot of emotion for me.

I love that the videocast of the mars landing was a bunch of engineers cheering. It reminds me how joy and unhappiness are measured by the reaction of various people. For example, one of the most important events engraved into my memory is the image of the Portugal-England WC2006 penalty shootout. The hero of the night, Ricardo, the Portuguese goalkeeper used to turn away and face the audience when a Portuguese player took a penalty. When questioned about it later, he said that he was "too nervous, and relied on the reaction of the Portuguese fans to know what the result was"

- Rowena

Hi ! I´m a astronomer in Brazil and I am researching in the last decades for life out of earth . I think that exists many life forms than we don´t know in the universe but our technology is not enough to detect or go to study . Not now, but in the future maybe (and i imagine that certainly ) we will have a better technology that helps to find this.

- Alessandro Drago

Comment on "Countdown"

Ahh! That looks so cool. So wait, it's going to be with the background of the sun? How exciting is that?

You know what I find interesting? How the planets are all named after Roman gods. Well except Uranus, but he's a titan and saying his names sounds inappropriate anyway (unless you pronounce it like 'YUUUUUR uhnus' but no one says that anyway).

Anyway, didn't they like...disqualify Pluto from being a planet a while back? (Isn't that what it's called? Disqualifying him from planetdom? Or there's probably another, scientific word for it, but whatever) And pluto is the god of the underworld (or Hades for those of you more interested in Greek mythology) and he was thrown off olympus, so it's almost a weird sort of connection, isn't it? The way Pluto was de-planeted parallels the way the god the planet was named after was thrown off Olympus.

Sorry, I've been very into greek mythology lately.

- Rowena
