World Campus and Student Aid
World Campus students who are enrolled in a degree program and meet all other federal student aid eligibility requirements may be eligible for federal aid programs.
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be considered for student financial aid. Please review Applying for Student Aid for more information about the aid application process.
Students who enroll in Penn State certificate programs, including those offered through the World Campus, are not eligible for federal student aid. If you are planning to enroll in a Penn State certificate program, you may want to explore other financing strategies for your education. Please visit the World Campus Web site for detailed instructions about completing your registration.
Note: It is very important that you activate your Penn State computer access account and check your Penn State e-mail address frequently. The Office of Student Aid, and other Penn State Offices, will use e-mail to communicate with you regarding student aid and other important information while you are enrolled.
Pennsylvania Residents: The Pennsylvania State Grant regulations state that, for an approved program of study, at least 50% of the coursework for the minimum program length must be taken through classroom instruction in order to remain eligible for the Pennsylvania State Grant consideration. This does not include online courses.
Alternative Loans: World Campus students who need additional financing may want to explore Private Alternative Loans. Please note that credit checks are required for these loans.
