FROM GERT ARON - July 10, 2000

To the Tennis Club Oldtimers,

You have probably read that I have volunteered to be the tennis club historian. Since I didn't join the club until the mid-70's, I am at a certain disadvantage and a relative newcomer. Therefore I hope to get some bits of information from members who have been with the club since the 60's.

I have jotted down a few items of interest. If you have any news to contribute, please write them down and leave them at the tennis center, or send them to me at 227 Kimport Ave, Boalsburg, PA 16827

1) When was the club formed?

2) What were the early tennis facilities?

3) What were the early membership fees?

4) I was told that John Egley was the first manager. Do you know anything about him?

5) Where did the club members play at the beginning?

6) When were the first clay courts built?

7) When were the first indoor facilities built, and what were they like?

8) Do you have any interesting stories about some early players?

9) Can you contribute any other anecdotes or stories of interest?

Thank you!
