It's hard to believe, but just 6 months ago we began to revitalize our tennis facility and players with the hiring of Eric Dove. We had been in turmoil since March of 1998 with the many changes in personnel and seemingly unresponsive contacts within the Athletic Department. Your Tennis Center officers approached the Athletic Department to form a search committee and interaction began as never before. Thanks to that group, we are now on the way to great, new achievements, activities, and growth. Eric has been a great catalyst as you can see, by boosting Team Tennis, clinics, lessons, youth organizations, flex leagues, and tournaments. In general, lots of ENTHUSIASM. In addition to Eric, the membership and facility has been blessed with the addition of Doug Schoenly as our Head Professional. Now no one will have to hold off on improving their game, beginning their game, or their pursuit to the U.S. Open Final (as a player of course)!

Also, you have been seeing changes in the physical parts of the tennis facility. The roof and siding project is complete and there will soon be a new entry that should keep those winter winds from rushing in every time the door is opened. The new wind screens are installed, a back-board built (thanks to Gert Aron and his crew), and many small repairs taken care of-such as the painting of the deck area. Keep your eyes and ears open, as you may be called upon to help, develop or improve, suggest or join committees so we can all enjoy our time here at the courts.
